Things like the Angel of Despair and Ashen Rider feel too expensive for what they do. Then again, I tend to get run over if the game goes beyond 10 turns so I am potentially wrong headed in that. I agree that your mana curve is a bit high for my personal taste. Though Ayara can be a little hard to cast without going deep into non-basic lands. If it is more an aristocrats deck that just happens to be able to steal things, then I would probably lean into it a little more and think about adding ] or maybe ]. If it is a theft deck then the aristocrats pieces are less valuable and could be swapped out. It will really depend on how you play it. I have run them in my Athreos deck before, but generally lean more into aristocrat themes than theft so you may want to dump the fleshbag to make room for other ideas. I'm not sure that will help or hurt your plan. If you wanted to bend more control-ish, you could duplicate the Fleshbag Marauder effect with ], ], and/or ] for those symmetrical sacrifice effects. I would keep the draw spells as well, but more draw sources are probably warranted. I would also look at ] as an alternative to one of your wipes just for the versatility it provides in case you run into an enchantress or superfriends deck.Ĭircling back to lands you may also want to add some utility there with ] or ] to help you draw cards more consistently than the draw spells will. It is kind of edge case, but with you running several wipes it will occasionally give you a nice swing to bounce back. I would strongly consider ] as a bounce back from a wipe. You're running a low enough density of tap lands that 2 more won't hurt too badly. Maybe dump in the white and black thriving lands from Jumpstart just to ensure you have your colors always available. If you want to stretch a little, a ] would smooth things out a little for you. I would probably add a little more flexibility to your land base. If you are stealing other people's creatures rather than protecting yours, then the Ozolith isn't going to help. ![]() Though that only works if the coins are on your creatures so that will depend on how you actually play things out. ![]() That or look at ] as a way to recycle coins. You have a ] to double Athreos' end of turn trigger and while it is just over your budget cap ] slots in well and may be worth the stretch on the budget. My first thoughts are to get more Athreos triggers.
